How do I make a Will?

Option 1: Cheap and cheerful method - buy an off the peg Will at your stationers, fill it out yourself and hope that you address all possible eventualities. Only recommend this if you have some legal training.
Option 2: Unqualified Will writers - these firms are often seen in supermarkets and shopping malls selling their service. They tend to make home visits, have the Will created from a central office and can be expensive. Option 3: Solicitors - qualified professionals who are trained to look at all aspects of your wishes, and to give qualified advice on protecting your wishes.Cost, more than Option 1 but tend to be less than Option 2
What types of Will can you have?
There are there basic types of Wills
- Single - for just one person
- Double - for couples who may want to vary the contents for one another
- Mirror - the most popular for couples who want to leave the same as one another.
- Living Will - This allows you to leave instruction for medical purposes.
How often should your refresh your Will?
We advise all our clients to do this every 5 Years, as your curcumstances might have changed. We offer a discounted rate for this service if the Will does not have to be re written, only amended.
